Carriers World Asia – Hong Kong

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Murray Goodman: Strong relationships with international bodies such as the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) creates some excellent opportunities for us to share our experiences and learn from international examples.

Prior to kicking off the OnKor WAN product development project these opportunities were scarce. Now, as we develop our Telecommunications focus, more and more of these opportunities arise for us to benchmark our services against the very best in the world.

The Carriers World Asia conference in Hong Kong brings together experts from across the globe (North America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East ) to discuss a range of topics specific to domestic and international telecommunications, including Metro Ethernet and the development of WAN as a service category.

Responsible for Kordia’s WAN product deployment I have been asked to present at this international forum on the Profitability of Carrier Ethernet through delivery of Next Generation Services which will cover areas such as; the challenges associated with meeting customers’ service expectations, outlining Carrier Ethernet’s role in delivering NG services, and extending the benefits of Ethernet for customers whilst maintaining carrier quality networking.

Representing New Zealand in forums such as these is indeed a privilege and creates outstanding opportunities for us to benchmark against international best practice.
