When ADT Armourguard – part of the global Tyco Group and the largest security company in New Zealand - wanted to ensure increased security for its teams on the street both day and night, KorKor was the perfect fit.
That’s because KorKor— Kordia’s digital two-way radio network—includes GPS tracking and encoded communications giving ADT Armourguard the confidence that they could be in direct communication with staff on the streets at any given time - with extreme clarity and knowing no one else was able to listen in.
“For ADT Armourguard, KorKor’s safety aspects were really important,” says Jannine Wilkinson, Account Director at Kordia. “In particular, the emergency alert feature available on all the digital two-way radio devices is key. It is a one- push button that alerts the wider team, and their national welfare centre, of any issue - including an accurate GPS location of the radio.
“To have these devices in vehicles and with teams while they are out of their vehicles means staff can feel confident that emergency communication is at hand when it’s needed.”
Taking team communications to a whole new level, KorKor also includes features that ordinarily can only be found on a mobile phone—such a texting and two- way phone calling—and combines these with features such as GPS fleet tracking.
The ability to force poll – a system that registers a Security Officers location at any given time – has also been an added advantage for ADT Armourguard, as it gives accurate ‘proof of service’ to their clients. This combined with vehicle tracking gives the clients a very data rich source of information – including the amount of time spent on site which is typically how clients are charged. “This sets us apart from our competitors and gives us a distinct point of difference” says Ian Anderson, General Manager of ADT Armourguard in New Zealand.
Over 40 handheld devices are now being used by ADT Armourguard as they change out from traditional one-way radio communication devices to KorKor’s digital technology.
