Kordia continues the successful relationship forged with Australia’s first 4G WiMax carrier – vividwireless with its latest project development which has seen Kordia secure a crucial site deployment for the Western Australian vividwireless.
Following the highly successful deployment of the carrier’s WA flagship WiMAX based 4G network, vividwireless selected Kordia for their newest project.
“Given our shared history and track record with vividwireless, Kordia was given the opportunity to deliver the sites, with the understanding that they will be installed to a high quality and on time,” said Project Manager Phil Knight.
The project, which was awarded on 1 October 2010, was scheduled for completion at the end of January 2011. It involves installation sites in five new areas in Medina, Casuarina, and Wandi; as well as microwave upgrades and associated cabling work on existing sites in Rockingham and Success.
In addition, the Kordia team delivered complete EMR reports for the Wandi, Casurina and Medina sites. The project is extremely comprehensive and included site commissioning, detailed site design and installation.
In order to meet the logistics of delivery requirements, the Kordia team planned for all sites to be rolled out in parallel.
Ongoing discussions with vividwireless are also underway regarding its expansive East Coast network deployment. The carrier is currently installing test sites in Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Vividwireless will also be trialling TD-LTE in its existing spectrum in parts of Sydney. The Seven Networked owned carrier is reviewing financial options and funding for the expansion of the network nationally.
A range of site level scoping for vividwireless sites in their Perth network and Kordia continue to deliver managed services and operations for the existing unwired network as well as the full Perth vivid network.
The WA rollout was an opportunity for Kordia to demonstrate its management and operational prowess on a network expansion project. The project was led by Phil Knight as Project Manager and Ian Controller.
