You may not know our name off-hand, but we’re the team behind your television viewing. When you flick the switch to your favourite TV programme, you’re activating our transmission expertise. That’s because it’s Kordia that’s supplying digital television technology in New Zealand.
Deployed in 2008, it’s our job to provide a digital broadcasting platform that’s accessible for all Kiwis. Reaching 75% of population coverage via 54 transmitters across 18 terrestrial sites, we’re looking after the rest of the country with Direct to Home satellite services.
Our direct to home service ensures that if your location is outside the reach of current terrestrial digital television coverage, you’ll still have access to free-to-air digital television.
Delivered through the Optus D1 satellite, this satellite is also used by Freeview broadcasters Television New Zealand and MediaWorks for carriage of their free-to-air satellite channels. These include TVONE, TV2, TV3, and C4.
