Kordia is one of Australasia's largest Telecommunications Systems Integration service delivery organisations.  We specialise in designing, building and operating challenging and critical telecommunications systems throughout New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific.

Some of the great things about working as a Kordia Field Engineer
  • You'll expand your knowledge and skills across a variety of broadcast and critical communications infrastructure including FM Broadcast and TV transmitters, safety of life communications (ambulance, fire and emergency, maritime safety), RF and Secure WAN.
  • You'll have the support and training from an extremely knowledgeable team
  • There's plenty of opportunity to travel countrywide around NZ including scenic remote hilltops
  • You'll be a part of a company where safety and zero harm is a genuine priority

The role:

As a Field Engineer in our Solutions team, you will be working alongside our Wellington team of experts reporting directly through to our Wellington Technical Team Leader.

You'll be involved in installation, maintenance and fault rectification covering the lower North Island region across both broadcast and telecommunications customers.  There will also be some occasional project work covering anything from a cellular site build to customer network installations.

The role often requires you to be out on the road solo, so you'll need to feel comfortable working in that capacity also.

What we are looking for:

Someone who'll fit into our inclusive, friendly team environment.

Ideally you will have
  • 5-10 years technical experience in either the broadcast or telecommunications industry
  • Experience across RF, Data, ICT and/or Broadcast systems/infrastructure
  • An RF/ICT technical qualification and Limited Electrical Registration
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to participate in an after-hours callout system (typically 1 week in 5)
  • NZ Residency
  • A current NZ Drivers Licence
  • Preparedness to complete a full medical assessment prior to employment.
Candidates who are accredited to work at heights will be favourably considered.

Our Values:
At Kordia we believe every team member has a role to play in the overall success of the business.  Whether it is through our working relationships, technology or skills.  Our culture and values encourage and reward those that are collaborative, trustworthy, humble, courageous and expert.  If these values appeal to you, we can offer you an environment in which you will thrive.
