We specialise in the telecommunications, cyber security, broadcast and maritime sectors and have been delivering innovative and reliable solutions to customers for over 60 years. We have a strong presence trans-Tasman with over 700 dedicated staff in the Kordia Group.

  • Own and operate speedy and reliable fibre and microwave national networks, powering business communication and connectivity
  • Run the Freeview TV and radio platforms in New Zealand, both terrestrial and satellite

The role

Due to several internal promotions, we are looking to bring some keen new graduate or junior software developers into our team.  We've had a great track record previously of helping our juniors to grow successful careers with Kordia.

This role is part of Kordia’s Systems, Development and Support team and is based in Wellington. We work on software used in networking, telecommunications, security, and our customer web portal.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a good grounding in software development, who is looking to kick start their professional career.  You'll be mentored as part of an active software development team, working on a wide range of systems that we develop and support.

Your role will include

  • Working with your team to grow your understanding of software development.
  • Development, testing and support of software applications across a variety of domains.
  • A mix of full-stack development and third-party application support.
  • Our primary development languages is Python, but we use a range of technologies.
  • Building and deploying on Linux and Windows operating systems.

The ideal person for the role

Our team is passionate about what they do and are looking for like-minded individuals.  To be considered we are looking for a demonstrated active interest in software development. This is likely to include:

  • A tertiary qualification in technology or business.
  • Either commercial or directed project work.
