Kordia has launched Kordia Secure Edge, a new cloud-delivered Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) offering powered by Fortinet.
Purpose-built to help New Zealand businesses simplify their security and networking stack while improving user experience, the service unifies security and networking features under a single solution.

Glen White, Executive GM Cyber Security, Cloud and Connectivity at Kordia, says the solution has been designed with customer and industry feedback to address the pain points associated with securing hybrid working.

“Kordia Secure Edge is designed to meet the reality of hybrid work. Our customers have told us they want simpler, stronger security solutions and a better experience for line-of-business apps, that is both easy and efficient to manage,” says White.

“Some of the customers we’ve spoken to recently have as many as 70 or 80 network and security tools in their environment, what we’re calling ‘tool sprawl’. With Secure Edge, we can help customers reduce their tool count, cut complexity and reduce their risk with a unified platform back by Fortinet,” continues White.

Nick Frantzen, Service Creation Manager at Fortinet New Zealand says “Fortinet’s Unified SASE offering is engineered to converge zero trust, SSE and Secure SD-WAN in one operating system and client, with AI-driven security and digital experience monitoring built in. Together with Kordia’s managed delivery and local connectivity advantages, customers get the simplicity and outcomes they’re seeking, from faster access to stronger, consistent controls.”

Kordia Secure Edge addresses network security challenges by applying zero trust and inline security at the closest cloud edge, so connections stay fast while policies remain consistent on any device, on or off the corporate network. The service includes secure web gateway, firewall-as-a-service, SSL inspection, IPS and DNS security for internet access; universal ZTNA for private apps; CASB and DLP for SaaS; secure SD-WAN; and end-to-end digital experience monitoring, all operated through a single console and agent.

Customers can adopt Secure Edge in phases, from quick wins such as VPN replacement with ZTNA through to full consolidation, with measurable ROI and outcomes tracking.

Fortinet’s FortiSASE platform underpins Kordia Secure Edge, delivering unified management, AI-powered FortiGuard threat services and a scalable cloud network of SASE points of presence for low-latency access and consistent policy enforcement.

For customers with New Zealand based operations, Fortinet’s local SASE point of presence (PoP) in Auckland provides improved performance, resilience and data residency assurance by keeping traffic within the country, while integrating with the wider global network.

As a Fortinet Expert-level partner, Kordia brings deep experience to support delivery and implementation of the service, backed by 30+ Fortinet-certified engineers and an NZ-based Security Operations Centre (SOC). Customers can choose fully managed or co-managed delivery, with Kordia providing discovery and assessment, policy design and validation, implementation and ongoing optimisation, including quarterly reviews and continuous tuning.

Kordia Secure Edge can be delivered over Kordia’s network or third-party networks, with flexible consumption and adoption models including fully managed or co-managed options. Organisations interested in reducing costs by consolidating point tools and licences, improving operational efficiency through one platform and console, and strengthening risk reduction through consistent, zero trust enforcement can contact Kordia to arrange an assessment and pilot.
