Kordia has announced it has sold its managed IT business so that it can sharpen its focus on its core business areas.

The deal sees Fusion5 acquire Kordia’s IT professional services and procurement capabilities.

“As Kordia positions itself for the future, we are making deliberate decisions to focus our energy and resources on the areas we excel in, and where we can deliver the most value,” says Kordia Group CEO Neil Livingston.

Kordia is New Zealand’s leading technology and critical communications provider with services in maritime; media; critical communications infrastructure; and cyber, connectivity, and cloud. The sale will give Kordia renewed focus and resources to strengthen its offerings in these core services.

Fusion5 is in the process of strengthening its managed service portfolio, through a strategy of acquisition. The agreement sees Fusion5 enhancing its New Zealand IT support and procurement services offerings.

“We are pleased to have reached this agreement with Fusion5. Given Fusion5’s synergy with and aspirations in the managed IT market, this is a natural and positive step for both organisations and a win for both sets of customers,” says Livingston.

“Managed IT customers will benefit from Fusion5’s passion for, and long-term growth ambitions in this area. Meanwhile, the sale will help strengthen Kordia’s focus and open up greater opportunities for our core businesses and customers.

“Kordia remains fully committed to providing maritime, media, critical communications, and secure connectivity to the markets we know best.

“This sale represents a significant step in our transformation, and will help ensure New Zealand businesses, and their customers, stay connected safely – now and into the future.”
