Kordia research reveals the state of NZ businesses' cyber security defences

New research commissioned by Kordia has revealed that New Zealand businesses are taking cyber security more seriously as the number of cyber-attacks continues to rise. However, while good progress is being made, chinks still remain in the corporate security armour.

The survey of 225 IT decision makers in businesses with 20+ employees was conducted by Perceptive in September 2017.

Key findings include:

  • 25% of NZ businesses were affected by the NotPetya and / or WannaCry ransomware attacks
  • 46% of businesses have been targeted by ransomware, malware or phishing attempts in the last 12 months
  • 54% of respondents anticipate the budget set aside for cyber security will increase in the next 12 months
  • 41% of businesses do not have cyber insurance in place.
